What will happen at the appointment? / ¿Qué pasará durante la cita?

Your child will complete a brief hearing check and a speech and language screening. You’ll also have the chance to speak with an audiologist about the hearing results and with the SLP about speech and language observations.

Su hijo/a completará una breve revisión auditiva y una evaluación del habla y lenguaje. Yes, caregivers will receive immediate feedback from the audiologist about the hearing check and from the SLP about speech and language observations.

What happens if the screening shows a possible problem? / ¿Qué sucede si la evaluación indica un posible problema?

If the hearing screening indicates a potential issue, your child will be referred for a full hearing evaluation. If any concerns are noted in speech or language, the SLP will provide guidance on next steps, which may include a comprehensive evaluation.

Do I have to get follow-up care at NUCASLL?/ ¿Debo continuar el seguimiento en NUCASLL?

No. Families may choose to follow up at NUCASLL or with another licensed audiology or speech-language clinic.
